Video Of Rochester Hills Man Firing Gun At High Schooler Released
Final arguments are currently underway, followed by the deliberation from the jury in the case of an older white male in Rochester Hills who fired a shotgun at a black teen who was asking for directions to Rochester High School earlier this year. A verdict is expected to be found soon, and the video of the incident does not help. Brennan Walker, who is 14, got lost while taking a shortcut through a neighborhood, after missing the bus. He went to a random house to ask for directions when this happened:
I grew up in Rochester Hills and find the fact that something like this happened to be unbelievable. It appears to me that Walker was causing no disturbance, nor was he seeming as a threat. Even Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard expressed his disgust towards the incident when it happened:
That's just completely unacceptable on every level. I don't know how you would justify it, but it certainly doesn't pass the muster.
According to FOX2, Zeigler's wife claimed:
I saw a black person standing at my door and I screamed at him and I asked him what he was doing there. He tells me that he is going to school and at that point he approaches the door, forward momentum, comes forward, opens the screen door, and puts his hand on the door handle again, as though he's coming into my house.
That's when she ran upstairs to wake up here husband saying she thought the teen was trying to break in. We will have an update of the case as soon as the jury reaches a verdict. Jeffrey Zeigler is charged with assault with intent to murder for firing gunshots as Walker.
