This Kalamazoo lover of beer (me) is normally a pretty level-headed person... in the same way that, say, a Michigan or Michigan State fan normally is a pretty level-headed person except for those one or two days of the year when they play each other or play that school that thinks is so cool it can call itself "the".
It seems like most of the news coming out of Comstock and Bell's Brewery has been business-related, with the sale of the brewery to New Belgium But now the focus is beginning to return to the star of the show - beer. With the approach of the new year, Bell's has announced a new beer, LoSun. LoSun is a low-calorie wheat beer.
Now that we've had some time to digest the stunning announcement that Larry Bell has sold Bell's Brewery to the conglomerate that owns New Belgium Brewing in Colorado, some items have been written that explain some of the thinking that went into the decision.
Wednesday June 23rd in the Beer Garden at the Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, Larry Bell will be doing meet & greets, signings and giving cheers as Bell's announced they'll be re-releasing the original Bell's Beer recipe from 36 years ago
Friday August 30th there will be a release party held in Traverse City at 7 Monks Taproom, which I will actually be in attendance for. Friday August 30th there will be a release party held in Traverse City at 7 Monks Taproom, which I will actually be in attendance for.
