Watch Marilyn Manson Perform ‘The Beautiful People’ With Cyndi Lauper
It was a star-studded night Tuesday (Dec. 10) when Cyndi Lauper involved rocker Marilyn Manson in her 9th annual "Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays" benefit concert. Together, the pair lit up a duet of Manson's 1996 Antichrist Superstar single "The Beautiful People."
But that's not all. Lauper also threw it back to some classic punk fare when she invited Henry Rollins onstage to sing a selection from his former band Black Flag, 1981's hardcore anthem "Rise Above." Watch fan-captured videos of both duets down toward the bottom of this post.
As reported by Rolling Stone, other performers also joined Lauper for a duet or two throughout the evening, including Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros frontman Perry Farrell as well as pop singer Kesha.
Held in Los Angeles at the Novo at L.A. Live, the event supported Lauper's nonprofit True Colors United. The organization "work[s] to develop solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people."
For being released 23 years ago, Manson's "The Beautiful People" is certainly having a banner week. Just a few days ago, a holiday mash-up of the song with Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" emerged online.
