A Peak At What The Heritage Tower Will Look Like Once Completed
A sneak peak of what the Heritage Tower will look like once renovations are complete. Architectural renderings for the rehabilitation were released recently. The building will house apartments with the first two floors for commercial use.
Once the home of Old Merchants National Bank and Trust Company, the the largest financial institution between Detroit and Chicago the building has mostly sat empty since 2010 until the restoration work began.
The Heritage Tower stands as one of the most important examples of Art Deco architecture in the Midwest. It was built in 1930-31 to house the Old Merchants National Bank and Trust Company
The project is expected to wrap up in the spring pf 2019. On top of the added retail and living space, much needed added parking will be included in the project.
