Free Access To Birth Certificates And IDs Could Be Coming For Calhoun County’s Homeless Citizens
Homeless residents of Calhoun County might soon be getting a break, when it comes to obtaining identification.
The plan, which is modeled after a similar one in Oakland County, would allow up to $3,000 in fees to be waived. Residents would go to the SHARE Center in Battle Creek and get a hardship letter, along with assistance with paperwork, in order to get ID.
Lack of identification can often be a setback for those seeking access to goods and services.
