Blink-182 Play Living Room for Steve Aoki’s Early 40th Birthday Bash
The birthday wishes are coming early this week for Steve Aoki. The DJ / producer turns 40 this Thursday (Nov. 30), but was treated to a special living room concert by his pals in Blink-182 on Tuesday night (Nov. 28).
As seen in the TMZ video above, the band settled into the spacious living room in front of the fireplace and behind the coffee table as friends gathered around to celebrate Aoki's birthday. Fittingly, the group performed a stripped-down version of "What's My Age Again?" swapping out the lyric "Nobody likes you when you're 23" to "when Aoki's 40."
Aoki turned his birthday bash into a charitable event, raising funds for his Aoki Foundation. The night yielded $500,000 that will be put toward brain science and research.
The band has a history with Aoki as he remixed "Bored to Death" last year and also previously collaborated with drummer Travis Barker and Yelawolf on a remix of "Push 'Em."
Blink-182 enjoyed a solid return with their California album in 2016 and followed it up with a deluxe edition that included a wealth of new music later in the year. Their touring is done for 2017 with no other shows currently booked.
