See Alice Cooper back home in Detroit for a weekend concert, ribbon cutting for a haunted house some say is real, and the dedication of Alice Cooper Ct.

Alice Cooper has always been proud of his Detroit days. In fact, his latest album is titled Detroit Stories. He was back home in the Motor City for a busy weekend at the end of September. As you can see in the video below, Fox 2 Detroit was on the scene for the unveiling of Alice Cooper Ct. The street is not an "official" city moniker, as it is in a residential development. Bob Seger and Glenn Frey have also been honored in this way.

I love the idea that they're naming streets after rock stars. I think there are more rock stars than politicians.

Alice also did the ribbon-cutting, not with giant scissors, but a knife (natch) for the Eloise Asylum haunted house. Before you scoff and say, "oh, how the mighty have fallen," know that this is not some haunted house in a former jewelry store in a half-deserted shopping mall. Eloise is a brand new multi-million dollar haunted attraction. Here's the thing: not all of the frights may be manufactured. A former hospital and asylum, Eloise has long been rumored to be haunted. The Travel Channel visited in 2019 and called it one of Michigan's most haunted locations. Some say you can still hear the screams of former patients in their agony and insanity. Alice Cooper is no stranger to haunted houses, having visited Homer, Michigan's Haunted Mill in 2006 and 2007. Owner Lance Cuffle ran Jackson's Underworld until retiring to spend more time haunting his family in 2020.

It was a busy weekend as Cooper has just kicked off his latest tour with Ace Frehley. The pair and their respective bands played Chicago Friday night before returning to the Detroit area for a show at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Saturday, September 25. It's always great to welcome Alice Cooper back home to Michigan, especially this time of year.
