These Satellite Images Show How Much Battle Creek Has Changed in 30 Years
Just how much can one community change in 30 years? Thanks to a Google Earth project that creates a timelapse of three decades worth of satellite images, it's easy to see what's changed in the Battle Creek area.
The clearest change is the explosive growth of the commercial district along Beckley Road near I-94. Back in 1984, the first image in the timelapse, the white narrow line hemmed in by I-94 and M-66 is Lakeview Square Mall. Watch that area as 30 years of developent transform that area from forest to the shopping area we know there today.
Another area with rapid growth is seen northwest of the airport around Denso and the manufacturing built near Fort Custer.
Take a look at the timelapse below and let us know in the comment section below what changes you notice the most around the area.
