The drowning victim, who was pulled from the waters of the Kalamazoo River Saturday afternoon, has been identified.

William Billham, 84 of Albion, was discovered by a group of kayakers Saturday afternoon as they were traveling on the waters of the Kalamazoo River. They contacted the Calhoun County Dispatch Authority who alerted Albion Public Safety and the Calhoun County Dive Team.

A preliminary autopsy has been performed and it has been determined that Mr. Gillham had been in the water a short time and there were no indications of foul play.

Albion Department of Public Safety detectives are still investigating the case and ask that anyone with information on the case to contact Sgt. Nicole Wygant at 517-629-7824.
