Fredonia Township voters said yes to a renewal of a seven-year, 1 mill tax to help pay for its 25 miles of local roads. The vote was 153 to 73 in favor.
Voters approved a measure to fund the Marshall Area Fire Fighters and Ambulance by a three to one margin. The .20 mill Capital Equipment Millage Proposal was approved for 10-years, to help the authority replace capital equipment for emergency medical services.
Pennfield voters said no once again to a school bond proposal. The measure lost by 35 votes, 855 to 820. The 0.60 mill tax would have paid for an $8.6 million bond issue to renovate Dunlap Elementary, make improvements at Pennfield Middle School, and upgrade the athletic complex and parking lots. Money also would have also covered upgrades at North Penn and Purdy elementary schools, and the conversion of First Wesleyan North Church into a preschool center. But again, Pennfield voters have said no, by a margin of 35 votes.
